吃瓜社 provided construction management services for the new South Shore YMCA in Quincy, MA. The new 2-story 118,000 SF building includes a 2-pool natatorium, a multi-purpose gymnasium with multiple sport courts, classrooms and meeting rooms, group exercise studios, a running track, locker rooms, administrative and support spaces, a full-day child care center, and a health and well-being center. All the program venues within the building are tied together by a very clear circulation system that enhances member access, safety, security and fosters community interaction.

The site development consists of new parking areas totaling 377 spaces, including 8 accessible parking spaces, a vehicular drop-off area adjacent to the main building entrance, pedestrian sidewalks, crosswalks and accessible ramps, a rear building service area with loading dock and waste disposal/recycling enclosure and significant site and perimeter landscaping. In concert with the YMCA鈥檚 social responsibility towards sustainability, significant 鈥済reen鈥� design initiatives have been incorporated into this project, including the use of porous pavement, energy-reducing LED site lighting and a waste recycling program.
